Human Resource Management (HRM) is the practice of recruiting, hiring, deploying, and managing the staff of an organization. The human resources department of an organization is generally responsible for formulating, implementing, and overseeing the policies governing employees and the organization's relationship with its employees (Chai, n.d.)

HRM is employee management, which asserts that employees are the assets of the business. In this context, employees are sometimes referred to as human capital. Effective use of staff, risk mitigation and increased return on investment as in other business assets. (Chai, n.d.)

 

Objectives of Human Resource Management

Human resource management is the most important activity in every organization. Without human resource management, companies will not be able to hire effectively, retain employees, improve, and enhance the organization and maintain a healthy, acceptable workplace culture and environment. (Pribanic, 2019)

1.      Social objectives:

The HRM must comply with the rules and regulations, or laws or regulations imposed by the community. It is necessary to develop and maintain healthy relationships between the union and management. It is the responsibility of human resources to ensure that legal, ethical, and socio-environmental issues are handled appropriately.

2.      organizational objectives

HRM aims to achieve organizational goals such as profit, growth, expansion, survival, diversification through HR activities such as planning, recruitment, selection, hiring, induct, training and human resource enhancement and arranging for employee performance appraisal.

3.      functional objectives

HR to monitor whether activities are being done in a timely manner. Create opportunities and facilities for individual or team development in line with the growth and development of the organization. Continuing to improve human assets through training and development programs.

4.      Personal objectives

HR should help employees achieve their personal goals such as higher pay and salary, job satisfaction, better working conditions, stable working hours, promotion, incentives, welfare benefits, prestige, recognition, status, and social security.

Important of Human Resource Management

Human Resource Management (HRM) is a modern approach to managing people in the workplace, focusing on human resource acquisition, development, utilization, and maintenance. It cares about all level managers and provides space for employee involvement, performance, and development. (Businesstoppia in human resource, 2018)

1.      To maintain quality of work life

Quality of work life is the idea of ​​the quality of the relationship between employees and the overall work environment, the impact of work on individuals and organizational performance and participation and decision making in solving organizational problems. Quality of work life is related to the employee's perception of physical and psychological well-being in the workplace.

2.      To increase productivity and profitability

Human resource management creates opportunities and motivates their employees to improve all aspects of personal life in the workplace. Motivated and trained employee will try to get their personal development in the workplace. Due to this it will have a direct impact on the growth of the company. The result will be an increase in the company’s production and profit.

3.      Creating employees who are easily adaptable to change

Human Resource Management offers a variety of motivational and career development programs to enhance employee skills. Training and development programs upgrade employees with the skills needed to adapt to the company environment, structure, and technology.

4.      Retain employees and motivate them to achieve the company’s goal

Important function of HRM is all employees to operate in the workplace and to retain them for a longer period. Under this function HRM performs tasks such as providing benefits, compensation, and rewards to deserving employees. These measures not only retain the employees in the company but also help to achieve the goal of the company effectively.

5.      To recognize the competence and contribution of the employee

To recognize the best and poorest workers, human resource management evaluates the performance of the employee in a timely manner. The best workers are rewarded for their contribution

6.      To Creating employee-owned feeling and team spirit

Designs human resource management work based on teamwork. Teamwork seeks the contribution of each team member, so HRM focuses on making each employee feel valued so that the employee makes the best contribution from their side.

7.      To retain business in the market

HRM employs the right people Creating a strong relationship between them to succeed in business. The employee will do everything they can to retain traders in the market.

8.      To Resolve conflicts among the employees

Conflicts between employees are inevitable in any company. HRM has different ideas to avoid those conflicts within them.

 

Conclusion

Human resource management is about contributing individually and collectively to achieve the goals of the business. It is a strategic and integrated approach to managing human beings as the company’s most valuable assets. When human resources are used appropriately for the organization, the organization reaps the maximum benefits in several ways.
